CASE STUDYYMCA Atlanta
As the YMCA of Metro Atlanta approached its 160th anniversary, decades of photographs, documents, and media existed across departments, formats, and storage systems. Valuable historical assets were difficult to locate, inconsistently labeled, and at risk of being lost or underutilized—making it challenging to support marketing, development, leadership, and storytelling initiatives tied to the milestone celebration.
Deb served as Project Lead, guiding the organization through a deep, multi-year archival transformation. She established clear processes, built cross-department collaboration, and led the creation of a centralized digital archive designed to support both daily operations and high-visibility anniversary projects.
Her work included the digitization, organization, and cataloging of more than 40,000 assets, including photographs, legal documents, videos, marketing collateral, and historical newspaper articles. Each asset was carefully indexed and placed into a digital asset management system to ensure brand consistency, approval controls, and ease of access.
40,000 assets
digitalized,
organized, and cataloged
Results: The transformed archive empowered teams across marketing, membership, development, and leadership to quickly find and use historical content with confidence. The organized collection directly supported:
A published 160th Anniversary commemorative book
An interactive historical timeline on the YMCA website
The production of a 30-minute documentary highlighting the organization’s legacy and impact
